I use nothing that did not come standard with the game....It was working pre-patch....

Did you try DE-selecting your character from the startup screen?

Start the game, enter your password, download, press play, and then crash? on the patch window, turn your character selection to "Select Character" instead of a character name. It happened to me and that change allowed me to log on.

Funny how a patch, that announced many big fixes, has a new one unpon log-in. I laugh at those people who said that SOE would save this game.

It is set to character selection....always has been....even when I select on the login screen which character I wanted it still brought me to the char selection screen

I CTDed about 10 times yesterday.. Before the patch it was rarely happening.

Also I am getting way more lag and warp lag. Around built up areas I allmost crash. I have to allow time for it to update if moving into a built up area or I will crash.

I did...three times in a row. I restarted my computer and it worked fine after.
